Thoughts on travel, work, and life

Our traveling home

For those of you who want to geek out on the specs and details of our new home, here’s the scoop. Our RV is an Alliance Paradigm 340RL (scroll down, it’s the 3rd model listed). We looked at over 100 RVs of all shapes and sizes. We knew as “full-timers” who would still be working on the road; we needed certain things: space to work, lots of light, a reasonably-sized bedroom and bath, ample storage—and, of course, a good kitchen! When we walked into this model at an RV show last February, we knew it was the one for us right away. It’s not too large, but it feels surprisingly spacious inside, and we LOVE all the windows. The full shower is fabulous, and we finally have a king bed! Admittedly, RVs don’t have the same level of finish that we all have in our stationary homes, but this one is pretty nice (some of them are AWFUL).

For the true truck geeks out there, we pull the RV (“we” = Andrew) with a Ford F350 dually (aka “the BAT Mobile) – “Big Ass Truck”). And for those of you wondering whether Michele ever drives…she does, just not with the RV attached (although she is the official attach/detach driver – more to come on that).
